Injecting style with mosaic tiles
Mosaic tiles, perhaps more than any other, can really add a splash of colour and texture to a home. Available in different finishes, colours and materials there is a wide choice in our showrooms. In this article our Addlestone store gives their advice on using mosaic tiles to inject style into a room.
Adding more to a neutral look
Creating a neutral look in each room is high priority for many, but unless it’s done cleverly it can make a home look bland and impersonal, and it’s here that mosaic tiles can really help. Mosaic sheets are generally made up of slightly different shades, so whilst you are choosing a neutral base there will be subtle tones and hues that will add interest to a neutral colour scheme.
Adding sparkle and glamour
If you want to add a little bit of glamour, or even sparkle, to a kitchen or bathroom then you can’t go wrong with mosaic tiles. Take a look at our Fiandra range, which comes in a main colour of black, brown, beige, white or grey but has added sparkle, or the Murano range which has pearlescent textures that will glisten in the light. Glass mosaic tiles also look fantastic being used as a border for a subtler look or to accent a plainer tile.
Adding a feature with mosaics
When adding a feature or piece of art to a room, tiles can work brilliantly. Coming in a range of shapes, styles and colours, our 3D or Diamond mosaic tile ranges could make the perfect stand out splashback in a kitchen or a feature piece of art in any room that will really add the wow factor.
Adding something special to a floor
Mosaic tiles aren’t just for walls; they can be used to create a very eye catching floor as well. However, as floor tiles need to be denser than wall tiles make sure the tiles you buy are suitable. If you are going to use mosaic tiles on a bathroom or kitchen floor we would suggest the rest of your decoration is kept quite minimal so as not to make the room look fussy.
Adding focus to odd shapes
As well as adding style, mosaic tiles are a very practical choice if you need to tile an area that has curves or odd shapes. The tiles come on sheets that are extremely simple to cut to size and can be curved or bent to fix in place making a possibly difficult task a lot simpler.
